Case study

Enhancing multiplatform high-volume performance with rapid symbol changes

Company profile:
The TFB client operates in the EU with a hybrid business model, supports multiple platforms, and provides liquidity to third-party brokerages.

Issues and pains affecting the business

Main issue:

The process of connecting different platform symbols with various LP symbols via the Trade Processor liquidity bridge takes too long.

The TFB client works with mid-sized brokerages that ulitise up to five platforms and provide White Label (WL) services, creating a need for quick symbol changes. The issue that the brokerages ran into was that with all the platforms, the symbol swap would take up to several hours.

Supporting issues:

The process of adding a large number of symbols to the liquidity bridge is not as straightforward as it needs to be to avoid delays and confusion.

Details of the project:
milestones and number of people involved

The timeline to fix the issue and update the client’s liquidity bridge with the new version was two months.

The prime broker team was engaged in the project, along with the TFB team, which included a customer success manager, a technical specialist, and a sales representative.

The project launched with a joint meeting to review the details and nuances and specify the requirements and must-haves. TFB’s internal tests and brainstorms followed this before the final solution was presented to the client. Once everything was discussed and tested in a sandbox, it was rolled out on the production environment and monitored to ensure the solution performed as planned.

Solution and specific features offered

As a result of joint brainstorming, A/B testing, and careful consideration, the Tools for Brokers team proposed the following three-step solution to the client:

Adding an option in the bridge to export the current list of symbols in Excel or CSV formats.

Correcting or adding symbols in the downloaded file.

Importing the file back to the system.

End result

As a result of the collaboration on the project, the client was able to eliminate the issues and perform better than the expected results:

  • Simple: the symbol change process was simplified and streamlined to reduce administrative costs.
  • Fast: the change across platforms and LPs was made significantly faster, helping avoid unnecessary delays.
  • Convenient: the simple solution made it easy for the symbol change to be carried out by all team members.
  • Scalable: the new process supports the client’s focus on growth and expansion through an efficient workflow.
